Teacher leaders oversee the Reading Recovery programme within an education authority.
Teacher leaders train Reading Recovery teachers who deliver the
programme to individual children.
Teacher leaders provide professional development to all trained Reading Recovery teachers ensuring the quality control of Reading Recovery teaching.
To become a teacher leader, it is necessary to undertake the MA in Literacy
Learning and Literacy Difficulties (professional route) which is only available at the Institute of Education, University of London.
This MA is undertaken with the support of the teacher leader's education authority. For more information about the training, please contact the National trainers/coordinators.
