| Description: | Having worked in education in a number of settings since qualifying in 1997, I trained as a Reading Recovery teacher in 2002. Since then I have worked at Randal Cremer Primary School in Hackney, supporting the lowest achieving children in literacy in a wide range of roles. My work as a Reading Recovery teacher, Literacy Coordinator and Extra Literacy Support Teacher has positively impacted literacy levels at the school. This is both in terms of the direct effect on individual children on the Reading Recovery programme, and through the many other layered interventions I have supported within the school. As well as regularly training, monitoring and supporting teachers, parents, TAs and other support staff, I have been directly involved with a wide range of unique literacy developments across the school and the borough. These include: *Co-writing and pioneering the Daily Year 1 Supported Reading Programme, now operating in 50% of Hackney schools * Taking part in the Lead Practitioner programme, providing support and training to other schools in areas such as Supported Reading and assessment If you are looking for a Reading Recovery teacher (part time or full time) from September 2012 in London, please do not hesitate to contact me. |

| Description: | Do you want your least able children to make astounding progress in early literacy? Do you value the investment in the early years to avoid the ongoing costs of support throughout KS2? Do you share my passion for Every Child becoming a reader? I qualified as a Reading Recovery teacher in 2012 and am currently looking for a Reading Recovery position in which I can make a difference to some of the hardest to reach children. I have previously worked as a SENCO/Inclusion manager in a number of Primary Schools and before that in an advisory/support role for a Local Authority. I have extensive experience in monitoring and training within this phase and also across the whole school e.g. setting up and monitoring the BRP programme, INSET delivery on phonics throughout the school, taking running records, effective cues and facilitating the guided reading process. | Description: | After 15 years of teaching across all Key Stages in primary schools I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to train as a Reading Recovery teacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past three years in this role. Working in one school and also across two schools. It has been one of the most rewarding jobs of my career so far. This year I was even more grateful to be given the opportunity to develop my role even further. As assistant headteacher with responsibility for ECaR, SEN and Child Protection it has been exciting to see the effects of the combination of all aspects of my job. Getting into class alongside teachers and supporting and coaching has enabled ECaR to have a greater impact in all classes across school. Developing and supporting BRP and interventions at all levels has all been supported by Reading Recovery. As part of a team that is dedicated to the raising of standards of teaching and learning I have enjoyed the challenges we have faced and risen to. I am now looking for a position in one or two schools where I can continue to develop and contribute to the raising of standards in reading and writing. I am currently in the North of England but will be looking to relocate anywhere in the country. If you are looking for a teacher who is dedicated to raising standards in reading and writing please don't hesitate to contact me. |
