The Institute of Education, in association with The European Centre for Reading Recovery, has published three books for classroom teachers for guided reading at Key Stages 1 and 2.

These provide classroom teachers and school librarians with a resource to 'band' guided reading books in appropriate levels for children of different abilities and ages. This can support assessment and tailoring instructions to the individual child.

Please note: 'Reading Recovery Guide to Book Selection' is only available for practising Reading Recovery teachers and offers guidance on texts for children in the intervention. Reading Recovery teachers can order the latest edition through their teacher leader.
