Reading Recovery is a short-term intervention programme designed for children who have the lowest achievement in literacy learning after their first year at school.

It involves reading and writing in a daily one-to-one lesson with a highly trained teacher for an average of 20 weeks. At the end of that time, most children have caught up with their classmates and can read and write at age-appropriate levels of literacy.

Reading Recovery is trademarked around the world.
